Taste Ethiopia - An Eating Experience

Join us for an unforgettable night as we explore the rich and unique flavours of Ethiopian cuisine. From tearing into soft, tangy injera bread to savouring the aromatic spices that make this food so distinctive, you’ll be taken on a culinary journey like no other.

One of the highlights of the evening will be experiencing a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony – a beautiful and deeply cultural ritual that brings people together and celebrates our time spent with each other.

We’ll be guided throughout the evening by Bethel Sweeney, who will share her expertise and passion for Ethiopian cooking, walking us through the preparation, flavours, and cultural significance behind each dish. Bethel was born and grew up in Ethiopia and now lives in Northern Ireland with her family.

The Flavours of Ethiopia

We know that many of you will never have eaten Ethiopian food and might be wondering what to expect! Similar in many ways to Indian cooking, much of Ethiopian cooking starts with a generous base of garlic, onions and ginger. There are lots of potato, lentil, split pea and vegetable based dishes. Traditionally there are many dishes to choose from and your plate will be filled with lots of different flavours. We will be serving buffet style, so you can choose what to try (and what to take seconds of!!). Some dishes are spicy, while others are much milder; there will be something for all tastes!

As the majority of Ethiopian dishes are naturally vegan and gluten free, there will be something for everyone to enjoy (please do let us know if you have any dietary requirements as some dishes will contain gluten and animal products).

This is an adult only event.
